So school has started and I am so excited for this last year to just END. Then sun has kind of gone, but I'm okay with that since I was sick of it anyway, and it just makes me feel of Halloween and Christmas which I'm super excited for. Obviously because I'm in my last year of school, everything is super busy. UCAS, open days, school work, extracurricular activities and just my own person creative work too, is just being rammed in my face and I seem to have no idea what to write on here which sucks too.
I am kind of happy though, which I think is important when being surrounded by so many things that need and want your attention. I have Thursday morning off every week now, which means I can thrift, lie in, have a driving lesson or just sit in a cafe until I need to get into school which is nice. I've also managed to achieve two of my writing goals which was to finish two of my projects this year which is also great. My teachers kind of believe in me and my siblings are like finding themselves which is really nice to see.
One thing that I am really happy with though, is that I feel that I am allowing myself to take more breaks. I'm being less hard on myself when it comes to my writing and that's really nice. I'm trying out poetry, and not forcing myself into projects that aren't flowing so easily at that time.
Overall, despite all of the stress and franticness of everyone, I can say that the start of this school year is WAY better than the start of year 12. It's like a continuation. Pressing play in a film after a two month pause.
Omg I know exactly how you feel. I'm hoping it will all smoothen out soon, but definitely yr 13 feels like a sort of continuation from last year but this time round, I'm more self-aware n just taking things slower, doing things more for myself -if that makes sense. I bet you're going to do fantastic in your A2s! Good luckk xxx
ReplyDeleteikr, i feel like i'm too tired to be dealing with things/people that don't benefit me or don't care for me. thank you though! you too x
DeleteI feel like I'm the other way round, A2 hasn't started as well as I hoped but I think you kinda identified the reasons, i never allow myself breaks or times to relax. I have full afternoons off 3 days a week so you've inspired me to go an chill in a coffee shop alone-learning to take time for yourself is so freakin important (but i'm still learning) hope it goes well x

aw don't worry! last year i was a total mess, especially since i changed my subject half way through the year :///!!!!
Deletebeing less harsh on yourself is so important, and yeah chill out in a coffee shop or something! thanks you for commenting and good luck xo :)
I'm in the exact same boat - so I totally get what you mean! I've definitely enjoyed and feel like I am going to enjoy this school year, despite it being so much harder. But the only thing dragging is 2016 tbh. 2017 is going to be so scarrrryy ahh. But I'm so excited!!! good luck xx
ReplyDeletehaha ikr! i really prefer the courses that i'm doing this year (like this half) which is great, but it is gonna be soo hard but it's alright if you like it. thank you and good luck to you too x
DeleteSchool has started for me as well, and thankfully, it hasn't been too bad!! It's so nice that you have a day off during the week, i definitely regret not doing that this semester. It allows you to do so much!!! I'm glad the year is starting well for you!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteoh you should have taken it!! haha that's really good for you and tysm xo
DeleteI am so happy it's finally getting colder, I can finally start wearing jumpers again. Year 13 is going to be so stressful, I'm totally with you on the breaks- you have to allow yourself some me time or you'll lose yourself in it all! It's so nice you have Thursday mornings off too, I have to go in every morning for 8 which is hell :(( x x
ReplyDeletearghhh that's so annoying!! some of my friends don't even get mornings or afternoons off which sucks for them too :/ but yeah, i love coats and jumpers and i can't wait to start wearing them!
DeleteI'm not at school anymore but as someone who's been through it all I can confirm that while year 13 may seem stressful, it'll honestly fly by! xx

thank you so much! i honestly need this after coming back from a uni open day! x
Deleteloving your self care, especially since year 13 can get (and mostly likely will get) quite stressful. But it's great to hear that you're allowing yourself to take more breaks so you don't lose yourself. I agree with Cara, it will fly by!
